I just read about the new Rhode Island State Police Crush Covid Unit 'snitch' line. Sadly, they probably have similar 'services' in other states. What's a 'snitch' line, you might ask? See below....
I don't know about you but, this is something I never dreamed I'd see in this country. Why does this remind me of the people in the old Soviet Union who used to turn in their neighbors...or 'errant' family members? Excuse me folks...but this is how they do it in China...and North Korea. They get neighbors to 'snitch' on neighbors.
Some may not realize that we had a pandemic in 1969...the year we had WOODSTOCK... the legendary non-social distancing music festival. Thanks to the media...which I worked in for my entire adult life...we've become afraid of our own shadows. What happened to our freedom? We're adult Americans...we can be 'responsible'...we can wear masks...social distance and avoid those who don't. But we mustn't be so quick to give up our freedoms...freedoms earned with the sweat and blood of our forefathers.
And we have to remember that... sometimes... even if we take all the precautions...do everything Doctors Fauci and Birx ask us to do...we may still get Covid 19. It's a virus...it's minuscule...it can hide in places we can't imagine. But the good news is...the overwhelming majority of those who get it will completely recover.
We must not turn in to a country of frightened sheep. I don't know about you but, this is not the America I grew up in. This is not the American way. Be smart...be careful...don't be reckless. But for Heavens sake...don't stop living. Life is for living...let's live. Oh...and nobody likes a 'snitch'.
